Riccardo Butini graduated from the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Florence. He obtained a PhD in 2004 and in 2009 was a researcher at the Faculty of Architecture in Florence where he taught the Architectural Design Workshop. He wrote the books Giovanni Michelucci. Fotogrammi del Museo (2007), Luoghi dell’abitare Tham & Videgård Arkitekter (2012), Architettura Sacra. Paolo Zermani (2014), Progetto contemporaneo nel paesaggio archeologico (2016), Cinque Architetture (2016), Architetture Possibili (2018). He has contributed several articles to architectural magazines and publications. He has participated in several national and international architectural competitions, mainly with designs for the rehabilitation and redevelopment of decommissioned architectural complexes, and urban or suburban sites planned for public interest programs. His competition entries and buildings have been featured in architectural magazines and publications.
