Alessandro Brodini graduated in Architecture from the Milan Polytechnic (1998) and obtained his PhD in the History of Architecture from Università Iuav di Venezia (2007). Since 2017 he is an associate professor at the DIDA department of the University of Florence. He has participated in numerous national and international conferences. His publications mainly concern the history of sixteenth-century architecture, with particular reference to Michelangelo, fortified architecture in the sixteenth century in the Veneto region, the role of the patron in the eighteenth century, and relationships between literature and architecture. Recently he has also focused on twentieth-century architecture, investigating in particular the figures of Sergio Musmeci and Francesco Palpacelli, and recently published an unpublished youth diary.
