His main field of research concerns Italian art, mainly Tuscan, from the fourteenth to the eighteenth century; in addition to this, he conducts in-depth studies in the field of decorative arts and fashion history. Together with Bianca Cappello, he recently published Storia della fibbia tra moda e gioiello (1700-1950), Milan, Skira, 2019.
