Rosa Romano

Rosa Romano is an architect (2003) and Assistant Professor (2006), and has a PhD (2010). She currently teaches Architectural Technology at the Schools of Architecture in Florence and Tirana, and works as senior researcher at ABITA Interuniversity Research Centre, participating in many national and international research projects on Environmental Sustainability and Energy Efficiency in Buildings. Her research focuses in particular on the performances and technological features of smart envelopes for nZEB. Furthermore, she works as an architect providing energy consultancy (in the field of bioclimatic architecture and innovative technologies for the environment) for public administrations and private companies. She is the author and co-author of over 70 publications on sustainability and the energy performance of buildings, and in 2011, as winner of the "Florence University PhD Press Prize," she published the book: Smart Skin Envelope: Architectural Integration of Dynamic and Innovative Technologies for Energy Saving.
