Iacopo Zetti is associate professor of urban and regional planning at the University of Florence. He obtained a Master’s Degree in architecture in 1994 and a PhD in urban, territorial and environmental planning in 2000. He has been a consultant for several urban plans, in Italy and abroad (Niger, Cuba, China) and worked as a researcher in the Tuscan Regional Institute for Economic Planning (IRPET), dealing with topics such as urban planning and environmental sustainability, and the participation of citizens in public policies. His research covers several fields: GIS and cartography as instruments of knowledge for urban planning; the participation of inhabitants in the urban project and planning policies; the re-use and rehabilitation of marginal spaces and in-between areas. Recently, with Maddalena Rossi, he published the book: In mezzo alle cose. Città e spazi interclusi, Florence, Didapress, 2018.
