Paolo Zermani is Full Professor of Architectural and Urban Design at the University of Florence since 1990 and, since 2015, Visiting Professor at the Academy of Architecture of Mendrisio. The main theme of his scientific research is the identification of an Italian architectural identity, in theoretical reflection and in the project, within the broader context of Western architectural history. In this disciplinary field, he founded and coordinates, since 2001, the Identità dell'Architettura Italiana conferences promoted by the Department of Architecture of the University of Florence and the magazine "Casabella." His writings include Identità dell'architettura, Vols. 1 and 2, Rome 1995 and Rome 2002; Architettura: luogo, tempo, terra, luce, silenzio, Milan 2015.
